(July-December)
We’ll take you to some of the most secluded beaches, to experience the nesting and release of some of the hundreds of thousands of turtles that use this beautiful coast to nest. La Flor Nature Reserve leads the conservation efforts in Nicaragua in saving the 150,000 Olive Ridley Sea Turtles that migrate here each year to lay their eggs. The Reserve is 22 Kilometers south of San Juan del Sur. The turtles have been coming back to this exact spot for thousands of years to keep their species alive. Your visit to witness this majestic ancient ritual will help the reserve pay for the conservation efforts which guard the turtles and eggs from poachers. This is a once in a life time emotional and educational experience that you will not witness anywhere else in the world. Other turtles found off the Pacific coast of Nicaragua are the Green Turtle, the Hawksbill Turtle and the Leatherback Turtle.
